Time to pony up.... 01/10/2008
Well, I've given them time to recover from their hangovers. Time for me to bug them again. Hopefully I'll get a response. If not, any suggestions? All I can think of is calling the phone number, but I don't want the long distance charges. :-p That and I don't want to assume everyone speaks English. Still no response 12/29/2007
Still no response for my request on the kernel for my device. I'm going to give them another week or so seeing as its the Chinese new year. Then I'll bug them again to see if there isn't something that can be be arranged. In the mean time, Happy New year! Enjoy your holidays. :-) 12/24/2007
Just wanted to shout out, Enjoy your holidays. And drive safe. Drinking and driving is NOT kewl. You do and you've joined the exclusive club of "Assholes & Idiots", congrats. Stumbling in the darkness.... 12/22/2007
In a Futurama Proffessor voice) GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I think I've located the maker of the board for my gps. I'm absolutely unsure if it is the ODM or not, Since I've not yet cracked it open to compare the specs. But they seem pretty freaking close to what I have. And they offer the linux kernel source for it! 2.4 kernel but what the hell, I'm not complaining. Its a 24^4252 tons better then what I've had to work with so far. Which is zilch. The company is called Jointech. I mirrored their site with wget just in case they suddenly disappear into the ether. They offer a kit that has a hell of alot more options then my gps does, like RS-232, ethernet, wireless, etc. But alas, this project is currently on a budget of -43.00. Yes, negative since I have other bills and I'm not exactly caught up to them. But I will pledge this to you, the bored, not quite even skimming my page, reader. I won't put a paypal donate button until I'm sure I won't end up using it for anything but my one man project. That and when I can do more then dream of coding hello world prompts. :-p |
